Proud of a student

One of my youth students was recently honored: Congratulations Ashley! After her original design for "Art in the Pages" was accepted she completed this statuette over the summer which will be displayed with other interpritations of the "Art in the Pages" theme in local libraries. Ashley is a fast learner and a talented illustrator.

Here is the caption that appeared below her photo on the school website:

Librarians Mary Wolfe and Kay Rice accept a miniature Art in the Pages statuette designed by Ashley M., student of Lesley Casey. The statuette is sponsored by the Fairfax Library Foundation, the Fairfax County Public Library and sponsors ExxonMobil and Baker & Taylor in honor of National School Libraries Month which is April. Ashley creatively designed and painted the statuette over the summer months and it will displayed during the year in the library.
